600 Light-Years Away: Earth, Mk II →
Astronomers have confirmed the existence of an Earth-like planet in the “habitable zone” around a star not unlike our own. The planet, Kepler 22-b, lies about 600 light-years away and is about 2.4 times the size of Earth, and has a temperature of about 22C.

Defending the Iron Lady →
Meryl Streep says she wanted to capture why people have “that special venom for her” in her performance as Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady. Streep’s performance is hotly tipped for an Oscar nod, which if she gets it, will be her 17th nomination. The Iron Lady is out in the UK on January 6, 2012. The US wide-release date is January 13,  2012.
